WHAT WILL YOUR 2020 LOOK LIKE?

Every year, a lot of people set resolutions for the upcoming new year. Resolutions usually involve parts of people’s lives that they would like to improve or new habits that they would like to start. A lot of people set goals to start incorporating exercise into their daily routines or take their body to the next level.

Setting goals seems easy as the new year approaches, but when the first week in January rolls around, it can be difficult to find the motivation to take the steps needed to achieve fitness goals. Today we’ll highlight a few tips to help you keep your resolutions for the year.

Write it Down!

One huge problem with resolutions is that a lot of people keep them in the back of their minds. While it is good to be thinking about resolutions, when the hustle and bustle of daily life pick up after the holidays, it can be easy to leave resolutions in the back of your mind. A great way to get around this obstacle is to write your resolutions down. Consider writing them in a journal or agenda where they can easily be referenced.

Think about the wording.

Something else to consider when writing resolutions is to think about the words you’re using to write them down. Instead of writing resolutions as “hopes” for the year, consider writing them in the format of a goal so that they are attainable. To take this a step further, make a long term goal such as “Improve my overall fitness in 2020” and break this goal into shorter goals including “go for three walks a week and schedule monthly wellness check-ins at QCA.” When writing functional goals, think about if you would be able to “check” the goal off of your to-do list. If so, you have a functional goal!

Hold Yourself Accountable.

Another great way to make sure that your 2020 resolutions become a reality is to grab a buddy to help hold yourself accountable. If your goals are fitness related, ask a friend who also likes to incorporate fitness into their weekly routine to go on walks with you. If overall health and wellness is your goal, schedule wellness appointments at QCA and let us help you stay accountable for improving your overall wellness in 2020.

Reward Yourself!

Another way to help make sure that you achieve your goals in 2020 is to reared yourself! By breaking your goals into achievable chunks, you’ll have more opportunities to celebrate. The reward will, of course, depend on the goal you set. For example, if you have a fitness goal, you could reward yourself for completing one of your short term goals with a cycle of Cool Sculpting. Right now, there is a promotion to get a $300 gift card for just $200! For more information, call the office at (740) 236 – 4131. This is a limited time offer so call today!
